I Said No More 9mm’s
I mean, 8, or is it 9, is enough, right? Well I just got two more. Couldn't pass them up. An old school Smith & Wesson 459, came with 3 factory mags, original box and Houge rubber grip. I put the black and pearl scorpion pattern grip panels on it. Makes it a little thick to grip. I like the factory black plastic grips the best for shooting. Paid $450.
The Beretta PX4 Storm is a cool service/ duty style weapon. I’ve been watching used ones go for around $430. This one wasn’t getting any love with my $299 bid riding it out till the last minute. It had what looked like some bad scratches on the slide and some other blemish on the frame. I had to throw one more bid at it and paid $335. Either there was some glitch with the pictures or they sent me a different gun, because there was nothing wrong with this one. What looked like a blemish on the frame was Italian proof marks. The scratch on the slide is minuscule and only visible if you know it there. The same day it came to the LGS I received 2 extra 15 round, and one 20 round Beretta magazines in my mail box. Both guns shoot to POA at 15 yards. Running all your mags at silhouette targets rapid fire is a blast. Best of old time and modern time DA/SA combat guns. |

I’m not usually big on flashy guns. Black/blued finish is good enough for me but that 459 wears those grips quite nicely
![]() Can’t say I blame you buying/ not buying any more 9mms. It’s a paradox we all suffer from occasionally. |

I don't like 9mm (but I have a bunch) and I hate the way PX4s look yet I have several of them.

Good luck with that. I've been seriously contemplating unsubscribing from all gun sale websites. I don't know how many "last guns" I've bought. LOL

I find it easy to resist buying any new 9mms. Most look and operate just like the Glock 19.

One of the early SA/DA 9mm wondernines!
(OK, the P-38 which had SA/DA and a firing pin block falls short b/c of its single stack magazine)

I like the old S&W 9mms. I still have a 5903 and had another smaller all black double action only maybe Model 469 which I regret selling.

469
I bought a 469 back when they first came out and had no gripes with it, other than the fact that 9mm ammo was still not completely common and everywhere like it is now. Then the FBI Miami shootout occurred and I abandoned 9mm for a long time.
These days my two 9mm's are Glocks. |

I have five 9mm’s, last one bought about 6 months ago was a Ruger Original Police Carbine. Absolutely love it.

Man, that’s a score! Especially the 459. It’s pure old-school cool.

I got about 5 9mm left. 3 S&W m39s , one M59 and one Browning HP comp model. I have decided to keep one M39 and the Browning
HP comp. It’s most accurate 9mm I’ve ever owned out of dozens. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

If you are moving away from 9mm, what are you moving to?
![]() I kind of understand why people don't care for 9mm for self-defense use. However, for accuracy AND affordability, it beats the others- at least in my ammo market here in california. I think I have my last 9mm also- but said that a few 9mm ago as well. ![]() I have sold a few, but still own more 9mm than any other caliber other than 22lr. However, for pure satisfaction, I like the feel in the hand of the .45acp more. And I am leaving out references to revolver cartridges or black powder calibers- which also tick my satisfaction index at the higher side. |

A Smith & Wesson 459 is a very nice pistol.

Like the 459. Over the last 25 years, I have owned at least two (probably three) 469s.
Unfortunately, I keep selling them. And then buying another. Similar to P7s. |
