when you reload with a fresh magazine
Make sure it's in.
Here's a bodycam of a San Bernadino Sheriff's Deputy engaging an armed and uncivil individual. Shots fired and the deputy is hit in the thigh and shin. While the deputy reloads, the ne'er do well emerges from the convenience store to re-engage the deputy in gunplay. Dang! I counted 9 more shots from the officer after the suspect was down. Dunno how "down" the suspect was at that point but it wasn't good enough for that officer. After having been shot I can't blame him.

We practice stress reloads and tactical reloads often. You are right - slam that puppy in there and make sure it is in there.
