Red dot AND Green dot?
Is there any prevailing thought on having Red Dots AND Green Dots on different handguns? All of mine are Red Dots. I was thinking of my next one being a Green Dot.

The green dots are much brighter and easier to see, especially noticeable when shooting outside in bright sunlight.

That's an interesting question; my mind is programmed to 'look at the target, find red dot, put dot on target.' I wonder if 'find green dot' would require reprogramming the old noggin?

I’ve only one red (green) dot sight but I prefer lasers due to my astigmatism. As I do have both red and green lasers I can only speak from that perspective and say that it makes me no difference when trying to put the dot on the target if it’s the green one or the red one. The issue for me is a red dot on a red target or a green dot on a green target.
I don’t think that mixing optics like that would mess with your marksmanship in any way. |

Ive used red dots on rifles and pistols for years. Never really LOVED them on pistols. RMR’s, Holosun, Burris, all red.
Then i got a green circle dot EPS carry. I frickin LOVE this one. Better (easier to see) in all lighting conditions. It just screams “Here i am”. Not going back to red. |

I am one of those people who has defective color vision. I'm not color blind -- I see colors, but not the same colors that other people see. It's called red-green weakness ... for good reason.
I can use a red dot sight indoors in poor lighting. Outdoors in sunlight, red dot sights are useless because the red dot is completely invisible to me. I have to use green dot sights.
