Threaded Barrel for Gen 5 Glock 17

As the title suggests I’m going to drop a threaded barrel in my Gen 5 G17 so that I can hang a silencer on it occasionally.

I’ve decided on an OEM barrel and I’m on the “Notify Me” list at the Glock Shop. Since there’s no urgency to make this addition right away (and I don’t want to pay a premium for one), I got to thinking about all of the other options out there to choose from.

I’m not looking for a match grade barrel rather simply looking for a good, reliable service grade part.

Is there any reason that I should consider an aftermarket option instead?

Ive used a bunch of Lone Wolf barrels as caliber conversions, suppressor host builds.
KKM makes a good barrel
The list is long. I think silencerCo has one as well, although i dont know who they have make it for them.

Thanks for the replies.

I checked out Ballistic Advantage. They get good reviews on line and are quite reasonably priced. Looking at their available inventory for Gen 5 G17s the threaded black barrels were out of stock. The current inventory is limited to gold or iridescent colored barrels…not exactly my thing. Still I’ll try to remember these guys for future consideration.

I know all about KKM barrels and let me just say; “I’m not worthy”. I’m an old man with a bum shoulder, nuff said.

Anyways as luck would have it, late yesterday I get an email from the Glock Shop advising me that the threaded barrel for the Gen 5s was back in stock so ordered one this morning.
