Optimal load for Ruger M77 in 6mm PPC

I have a Ruger stainless steel heavy barrel Model 77 in 6mm PPC. I am newer at reloading and would like to work up a load for this rifle that would provide optimal accuracy at 100 yards. I have 6mm PPC dies and Norma unfired brass and other necessary reloading equipment but have never worked up an optimal load for this rifle. I would appreciate if any forum members could recommend a powder type, bullet weight, primer type, seating depth, etc. that can get me in the ball park to work up an optimal load. My shooting will be limited to a 100 yard local range and I am trying to get group size under 1 inch. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or recommendations you might have. Roger5

I have the same rifle you are shooting. I acquired it this pst summer from a friend that needed money so I bought it for a killer deal. I wish I could help you more but I don't have any 6mm ppc brass to run in it. I've been using 7.62 x 39mm brass that I reformed and fire formed to my chamber. As far as seating depth evert rifle is different so you just got to experiment. I use a gauge to measure bullet ogive to jam and back off some to start there. As for powder I've run alliant re 10x and vihtavouri n133. Both have worked good for me. I'm also running a sierra 60gr hp but mostly because I had the one hand because my 243 loves them for coyotes. Primers are small rifle bench rest if you want it to shin. I'm running large rifle on a count that's what 7.62x39mm brass uses. Also just wondering where you found the norma brass? Wish I could be of more help.

Optimal load for ruger M77 in 6mm PPC

Thank you for your response. If you google "norma brass for 6mm PPC", a number of sites will appear that sell this brass. roger5

Don't overlook Alpha munitions brass--they make 6ppc; I use them for cartridges like 25 creedmoor and 30 BR (they don't actually make a 30 BR, so I I have to size to fit their 6mm BR). Here's a review you might find useful.

Anything you feed that rifle will be sub moa. I had one 20 or so years ago. It literally shot anything I fed it. I do not remember what the load was, but the seating depth was key to its accuracy. It wanted the bullet touching the rifling.
