Haven't bought a gun all year

Haven't bought a single gun all year. Definitely needs to change in the near future. I have it narrowed down to a P226 in 9mm or a sub compact 9mm. Really want a sub compact as I don't have any. But I haven't found one I really like.

What I want in a sub compact 9mm:

Da/Sa
Decocker ONLY(or able to be converted)
Double stack

CZ Rami "D" model looks to fit the bill but they are discontinued and hard to find.

Are there any others that fit the bill?

If not, I'll have to "settle" for a P226...

Have you reached the point you have more than you need and less than you want?

I bought 4.5 guns in 2024, the last one hasn't reached the FFL yet so I guess that one will have to go towards this year. ;-)

Any SIG will be a good choice. I was thinking of a P225-a1 myself.

Red: all non-buyers are required to turn in their Man Card. Send it to the local church, or gay bar.

Now, if you want a SIG, be sure to look at the p365.

The only subcompacts I am interested in have to meet all three of my listed requirements. Haven't found any new ones that qualify yet...

Only deciding on the power source

My toy fund is in great shape for 2025, thanks. That means I just need to decide between powder and air power.
Decisions Decisions it's all good. What I will not be doing is buying and modifying air guns and then reselling them for much less money. Unlike PB's that is the norm with air power.
I'm thinking another PCP pistol, the one I have is more like a carbine sans buttstock. Maybe a c02 powered pistol for basement targets. Hmmm, it will need a moderator.

You could look at the FNX or FN502 series. They might be a little bigger than your thinking but a had a 502 once and it was an excellent pistol. The only reason I ever sold it was because it just didn’t quite seem to fit my hand very well and I had problems shooting it as accurately as I expected. I had other people shoot it and one of them shot it so accurately he made me a good offer and I sold it to him on the spot. I always wondered if maybe that was a mistake and I should have just practiced more with it. But I kind of have a thing that if I just can’t naturally shoot a gun accurate enough I just get rid of it. Over the years I have a fairly decent collection and I know I can grab any one of them and hit what I want without thinking about it.

I want a P226 Sig as well. Haven't been able to find a used one. I did see a new "special edition" in a big box sporting goods store a few weeks ago but they wanted around $1,200 for it. I'm still thinking about it.

Hey Red, dunno if this helps or not but I seem to recall seeing some flavor of the Beretta 92 in a compact size. I don't really know that much about Beretta 92s/M9s (and it's been years since I've shot one) but IIRC they are SA/DA and have a decocker as well.

Good luck finding your "Goldilocks" gun and hopefully this year you'll be able to add to you collection.

I really like my 92 full size. Looking for a sub compact though.

I've only bought one gun this year. It has been a slow 2025.

Hmmm? Sounds like I have the lowest impulse control. Bought a Super Wrangler for plinking as it scratches my itch for a “cowboy gun”. I pick it up Wednesday because I bought late Saturday evening. Then at the range today I got “pushed” into buying a Canik MC9 that I was eyeballing, it was 10% off bringing it under $400. I pick that up with the Super Wrangler.
Sounds like I’ll be spending January at the range.

I was a good boy in 2024... I only bought 2 guns. I think 2025 will add 3... a Colt Official Police, a trapdoor Springfield, and... I'm open to the 3rd.

I could do more, but I have promised a Disney trip to my youngest. And I'm still paying off debt I was saddled with in the divorce (much or which I didn't even know about during the marriage until I ran a credit report... which played a not-insignificant role in leading to the divorce). I digress. I'm on the hunt for the Colt now, just waiting to find the right one at the right price.

Way to celebrate Elvis's birthday. I hope you shot your TV with it.

I have a 226 ELITE (.40 and .357 SIG barrel) and a RAMI 9mm (non decocker)

Bought the RAMI just because I'm a CZ fanboy, I'd rather have the decocker, but it's what I found. It was still cold from being delivered when I took ownership in the winter time. While I'm at it, I'd also rather have the .40

The RAMI is obviously smaller, buy that over the 226 only for the reason it is easier to conceal. It is a fine firearm, and I enjoy it at the range, though I've rarely carried it.

Saying that, the 226 ELITE is a much nicer gun.
