Small rifle primer pocket prep

I think maybe its just me, but I do not see specific primer prep tools for the .223 primer pocket. The sizes I see are small /Large pistol/Large rifle.
But my .223 pockets are not the same size as my small pistol pockets. My uniformer tool is useless and my wire brush I need to kinda rock the case back and forth to clean a pocket.
I use an RCBS electric prep station. Anybody know where to find these parts?

Small rifle and small pistol primers have the same dimensions.
Some vendors go overboard on primer staking and distort the primer pockets. I've seen this with Aguila.

Only thing I use for 223/5.56mm primer pockets is the Frankford Arsenal Platinum case prep machine and a primer pocket crimp remover. Other than that, I have found no advantage to cleaning out the pockets on 99% of the brass I use. I also am NOT making match ammo, that would be different, of course.

Go to the SAAMI pistol standard and on the Table of Contents (6th page in the document), click on "Primers and primer pockets" to be taken to page see the three sizes specified. You will see that a small pistol primer and a small rifle primer are identically dimensioned, as are their pockets. Indeed, they are the same drawing labeled as being for both types. In practice, small rifle primers generally have the strength of a small pistol magnum primer and a thicker cup for the harder impact many rifle firing pins provide, but they all fit in the same pockets. 223 Remington cases use small rifle primers, so this discrepancy should not be happening.

So, that begs the question, why are you seeing a difference? Make sure the cases you are using are not labeled "NT" as non-toxic (NT) primers are sometimes a different size. If you decapped them, I am assuming you already know they are not Berdan-primed cases. Please, tell us what the headstamp says, and better yet, show us a photo of the headstamp.
