I have a Walther P38 9mm which was on of the first issued to the South African Police Force in the early sixties, to replace thier early .38spec. My problem is now that the hammer drop safety does not work correctly and the pistol can only be loaded by having the safety on fire and when the safety is activated the hammer does not drop. I have replaced the sear, saftety drop arm, safety catch, trigger and virtually all the moving parts but the problem still exists.

Dave, since you've replaced all the moving parts you might check it over real well in all the holes and recesses to make sure there isn't a burr or ding intefering with the parts' movements. George
