I like the 200 grain Hornady JSWC (currently named JSWS-CT). I see it listed only in 1700 bullet bulk and is currently on Hornady's suspended list while they catch up.
The 5 shot 25 yard group below was that bullet over 4.2 grains of Bullseye right after my Goldcup was fit up and didn't have a hint of rattle or wiggle anywhere. It was fired off a Hoppe's pistol rest using an Aimpoint sight.

200gn LSWC.
I see a trend building. 5.0gns Winchester 231 - quite possibly the most accurate round I've ever loaded. And yes: Nice big sharp round holes.

Nosler or Zero 185 gr JHP.
The 200 gr SWC is a potentially accurate DESIGN. Getting them cast well enough to live up to that is the trick. |

Another 200gr LSWC fan here. 200gr LRF would be next.
I disagree with Jim. Very easy to cast and get great accuracy with. |

If your buying yes as mentioned above the SWC, but the weight might be more accurate in your pistol with the 185, the 200, or if you can find some the 215gr. I only mentioned the last one due to finding a mold for this weight and having shot some they are on par or possibly a touch more accurate than the 200's in my gun.
Other than that, I can't argue with what is posted above.

It's hard to find a powder/load weight that doesn't work with a 200gr lswc bullet. My favorite powder is AA#5 but YMMV.

I have never cast anything but low volume rifle bullets; just can't imagine cranking out bulk pistol bullets. I have had two brands of commercial cast .45 SWCs that gave superior accuracy. Neither company is still in business. The current crop is kind of OK for routine shooting but I don't think it will do for 50 yard slowfire. |

Another vote for Hornady 200 grain lead semi-wadcutters.
For a long time (but a long time ago) my LGS used to have a pretty good price on them and I quickly settled on the bullet with a little bit of Bullseye for my standard target load. I've briefly tried some other loadings but always came back to this one. If I can't get Hornaday I get some other 200 grain lead SWC...the 185 grain bullets worked pretty good too but my favorite was the 200 grain bullets. |

Hornady 200 grain FMJ-CT (SWC) but is out of stock everywhere. I'm down to about 300.
I substitute the Rainier 200 grain plated SWC in guns with polygonal rifling, a very good bullet in it's own right. |

I'm in the 200gr. LSWC group also...
Having said that, I have found that the Speer Gold Dots group rather well, along with every weight of the Nosler XTP family. Essentially everything out of my 45 group well enough for me.. |

The 230 grain Berry Hard Cast RN over a 8 grain charge of HS-6 and WLP @ 1.250" has been my best performer. The RN doesn't punch clean holes like a FN, but does the job.
HS-6 is a slower powder and performs best at higher pressures, particularly in .45 ACP, so this particular load is stout, but not abusive. At least with standard spring rates. |

I doubt any .45 ACP bullet has shot as accurate as 185-gr. JSWC ones. Mild commercial match loads have tested well under 2 inches at 50 yards; some 5-shot groups under 3/4 inch.
