I have only had experience with the Lee Classic Turret, but I have been perfectly happy with it.
The interchangeable turrets make swapping calibres childs-play and the removeable indexing rod makes switch to "single-stage" press if needed (this can be handy) The turrets take standard dies so if you want to spend on Redding comp dies, then you can. The nice thing is the press is not exorbitant in price meaning you have more to spend on components which will undoubtedly need!! If you also need metering tools the Lee Perfect Powder Measure gets my endorsement, particularly after I had been so disappointed in the Lee Auto-Disk Pro... |

I have the RCBS and I like it, but if I had to do it all over again I would get the Redding.

Lee classic turret press for me, I can't think of a single thing about it that I do not like.

I have the Lyman and I like it, but if I had to do it all over again, like Steve, I would get the Redding.

I like the Lee as the guys above.
Swapping turrets. Good quality.
I had an old Truline Jr. It was a good quality press but used smaller dies. I had to make a turret for it to accept the 7/8th dies. Had a problem with my Lee Classic and Lee stood behind it with no questions asked. They did want photos of the broken parts. I got a little over enthusiastic and the turret went crooked and snapped the turret and the top housing. They sent me two new parts very quickly. I have no experience with RCBS but it is hard to believe they are anything less than outstanding.

I love my Lee classic 4 hole turret - should work just fine for both pistol & rifle . . . I'd have no hesitation in getting another one.

Lee Classic turret, be sure that's the one you're looking at. Their other turret is functional but no where near as good.
With that caution, I absolutely agree with this... Quote:

Redding T-7. Very beefy & ridged.
No aluminum, no plastic, just 100% USA made steel/iron. |

Old Lyman 6-position. Good but still have flex. If get to do over will have the Forester co-ax instead. Turret is nice but not necessary for me.

I'm still liking the Lee Classic Turret for my rifle needs. It still looks like the best over-all design for the $. I'm sure that someday somebody will offer something better.

Had the two old turret press for twenty trouble free years. Sold both of them to buy the new Classic turret and have been pleased with its simple operation and ease of caliber changes. Reload everything from 380 to 3006. Use it almost nightly to crank out 5.56 rounds. Best money I ever spent on a press and I also own two SDB's very good but not versatile like the turret. If only allowed one press it would be the Classic Turret.

I'll echo the Redding T-7 for rifle loading. It turned my single stage press into a doorstop.

Chipchip -Are you talking MANual Turret ( Redding, Lyman,RCBS, Hollywood ...), or PROgressive Turret ( Lee- 3,4, or 5 hole?)?

Redding T-7. It is the only press I use anymore. It has plenty of leverage, no noticeable flex, moves easily from die to die, seven holes and the turret head is relatively large to change dies when needed. You might consider InLine Fabrication, they have nice accessories, I use their mount and roller rod.

To all of those using a T7, what are you doing with so many holes? Multiple calibers per turret head, powder dump ect?

I keep a Lee universal de-capper and an RCBS ram prime die on my turret. Depending on what I'm loading I may have my powder measure on there too.
When I use it for pistol I turn it into a 6 station semi-progressive(?) loader. |

I converted my three hole turret press
to a four hole progressive, but I do not use the progressive function. In fact it isn't even included.
I actually would have been okay leaving it as a three hole press but I used a factory crimp die in some cases so I felt I needed four positions.
