can you put a 45 slide on a original colt 9x23? will the mags work for the 45 or will there have to be a new mag release? and lastly, will one of the 22 conversion slides fit a 9x23 colt frame? i understand that recoil springs will haave to be changed. tia

Yes, you can replace the 9mm slide with a .45ACP slide. You must change the ejector; the 9mm ejector sticks out farther.

No problem with the .45 magazines. The differences are internal.

For that matter, you can put a Gummint slide on a Commander, but it looks funny.
