soft shell rifle case: standard length?
I went to Mills Fleet Farm lastnight and picked up a Hunter brand soft shell scoped rifle case, however, I don't know if the case I picked up would be considered too long for my rifle. I believe it was listed as a 50" scoped rifle case but I have no idea how long my Browning A-Bolt is.....it's got a 22" barrel if that's any help. I've also seen soft shell rifle cases at Gander Mtn that were listed at 48" (I think)....would this be ideal for my rifle since it has a shorter barrel or am I just splitting hairs here?

I think you spliting hairs here. If it fits, I wouldn't worry about it.

An A-bolt with a 22" barrel should be a hair under 43".
I always buy longer cases - hard or soft. I might want to buy a longer rifle some day and I don't want to have to buy a case for every rifle. |
