Mossberg 500 SPX?
Really been thinking about a Mossberg 500 SPX. Don't really need one. I'm fully satisfied with my various handguns for home defense. Just think tactical shotguns are cool, and the spx to me is one of the coolest. What say you?

The controls on Mossbergs work much better with a conventional stock instead of a pistol grip stock. A PG stock makes it very difficult to reach the safety and slide release. I realize that stocks that look like an AR are all the fashion, but you'd be better off with one of the regular models, perhaps a 590 like this:

My favorite is a used (well under $200) 500A which will probably have a 26ish inch barrel. For $75 (http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tNumber=748383) you can get a brand new 18 1/2 inch barrel, and, if you want, a shroud for $27 (http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct...tNumber=748383) and you'll have a very good tactical piece, and a pretty good field gun (of course you could later add a slug barrel and have a real AIO for under $500).
