Truing a Mod 70 Classic

My Win Mod 70 Classic chambered in 270 WSM has been bedded and a Timney trigger installed. It produces MOA and that's it. Will action truing improve rifles accuracy ? Any gunsmiths want the work ?

Are you using factory or handloaded ammo? If you're using factory, you might want to try handloading for better accuracy.

I am really getting old. I can remember when a sporting rifle that would shoot MOA was a treasure, not a problem. Yes, you can have the action worked on, and you can tinker with loads and bullets and maybe if you are lucky you will hit some combination that produces that one hole group. And you will have a whole new hobby to occupy your time, keep you up late, and take over your life. Have fun!

Is the bedding material hard without voids especially where recoil lug is at?

What is wrong with MOA? Especially with a magnum.

I don't know if truing will improve your accuracy with that cartridge. If your lug engagement is in the 70% range, I really doubt it.

If you want to have the action trued, and I only recommend truing the receiver face if lug engagement is good, then have the barrel replaced with a match barrel. Something heavy. The heavier the better as you will not be happy with just MOA groups.
