Wideners Primer Shipping

Just so ya'll know if ordering primers from Wideners expect a week or longer delay in shipping. I put a order in mid last week for IN STOCK primers and just heard back today that it most likely won't be shipping till the end of this week. No big deal but if your expecting to have them ship within a few days of ordering you might be better ordering from somewhere else that actually has them IN Stock.

One of the reasons for this is UPS. Because primers and powder is hazmat classified there can only be a certain amount on the truck per day. So when they sell out of 10,000,000 primers in a week it takes some time to get everything shipped. You will also notice when they have a hugh shipment of primers going out their website will say "we are xx days behind on shipments", this is because of the hazmat restrictions. I am certain Midway and Cabelas probably have the same problem.

^^ I'm sure there are reasons but i personally just think if it's going to be a week or more till something ships whatever company it is should be telling you, maybe i'm just picky but when something says in stock and a company is taking my money i expect it to ship somewhat quick unless i'm told otherwise at the time of purchase.

I agree with you. Also I am not trying to defend Wideners, just passing along something I found out on shipping. Unfortunately a lot of mail order companies take your money up front on purchases instead of when it ships. I know Midway will not charge you on backorders until they a ready to ship. I ordered a RV trailer cover, was charged $200+ up front and it has been on backorder for 6 weeks. I would have preferred they charge me when it was ready to ship.

The limit on the trucks is true. I have been told this by Cabelas and others that they are limited to the number on a truck. So, that is correct, with numerous orders, unless there are a lot of UPS trucks lined up, it could take days to ship all the orders out even with them in stock.

Wideners must have heard you, they now have posted that hazmat orders could be delayed up to 5 days.

UPS leaves a tractor trailer at the loading dock for Wideners, they fill it up as they go thru out the day. Once it is full they call UPS, the driver brings a empty trailer, switches them out and take the full one with them. You think there is any money in selling ammo/reloading supplies
