.45 Colt Priming in Starline Brass

I bought a box of new Starline brass for .45 Long Colt and in using my Lee Autoprime tool I have difficulty seating CCI Large Pistol primers in this virgin brass. I have heard the CCI primers are very fine and consistent, so what am I not doing. Even turn in the case holder 180 degrees doesn't make them go in any easier.

CCI primers have thicker metal in their cups, and are therefore harder to seat. Since the metal is thicker, there is a lot less chance of being pierced by a firing pin with heavy loads (pierced primers leak hot gas, which acts like an acetylene torch and cut into the firing pin, destroying it).

For semi-auto rifles the thicker cup also decrease the chance of having slam fires.
