why sell only resizing dies
In need of .223 rifle dies, I visited the local shop and they had only a resizing die. Why would the manufacturer sell only this die? Can I use my .22-250 seat-crimp die. The .223 ammo will be used in AR.

Some folks use one brand sizing die and another brand bullet seating die.

Gas guns work better if sized with a small base die, which may be sold seperately. Did you check to make sure it wasn't a small base die?

Single resizing dies are sometimes bought by those folks who have in line seating dies that can work for different cartridges of the same caliber or are buying a specific seating die for competition that does not come with a resizing die. Some of the more popular cartridges like .308 and 30-06 will have myriad of configurations for dies and it allows the reloader to have flexibility.
