Cutting a barrel down 4 inches with 1:12 twist.

Will this have a negative impact on the gun if I have it reduced by 4"? It's a .223 Remington SPS.

The twist doesn't care how long the barrel is as far as accuracy goes,but you will lose some velocity.

You will lose 50-75 fps per inch.
