"round action" side-by-sides?

I see this term used to describe some guns -- I can see that the front of the stocks are quite round rather than oval, but I don't really understand the term and what it is telling me compared to other types of guns. Could any of you explain?

The round action shotgun has the receiver well radiused at the bottom for comfortable onehanded carry at the balance point and for an attractive blend from buttstock to foreend contours. This is possible because most of the working parts are mounted on the trigger plate, not in the receiver under and immediately behind the barrel breeches. Detailed discussion at

Where David McKay Brown makes round action guns along the lines of the original Dickson.

Prices

I found the prices and picked my favorite qualities from a gun that I would like to have and the grand total came out to 54,250 Euros or $72,101.17 U.S.

Heh. I think I'll probably have to pass on one of these for a while.

DMB's generally start at about 39,000 British Pounds and go up from there - the average is around $75,000 US
