Lyman 4500 -- Nice Tool
I recently got a Lyman 4500 Bullet sizer and lubricator. This is a nice tool and does just what it is suppposed to do. Now I can load some of the bullets I cast a while back.
Do any of you use this tool? What is your favorite type of lubricant? I am starting out with Lyman Alox. It is working well in the tool. Yet to be seen how it works in the barrel. |

Lars Red (aka Carnuba Red) is fantastic stuff--no smoke, no soot, and leaves your bore clean and shiny. Getting reports of cast long gun boolits being fired close to 3000fps with no leading.

lubesizers
i have a couple 450s & have the handle update linkage kits .
i discovered the castboolits site a couple of yrs ago & bought Glenns lube for the price & figured what the hay i know how to clean out a lube sizer nowLOL!! well it turned out it was the last time i had to clean em out , it works +1 for no smoke & easy clean up !!! i find runnin the heater around 100f -110 is sufficent to lube big groove pistol boolits . i contacted Glenn some time back about melting point ,he said it`s around 155f so you can use it in summer time with no worries. Lube
The abve web site is a great place to get lube. I also buy from them. I use the BAC-and not the straight Carnuba Red. Read the information on the web site-he does a great job explaining the difference. IMO the Carnuba Red is designerd for the fastest velocity bullet. I do not drive my bullets that hard. And that straight Carnuba Red is pretty hard. You should use a heater with the Carnuba Red, but you do not have to, but do not try to use it in cold weather if you do not have the heater. Try the BAC. Tom.
