Lead Alternatives

I have the sneaky feeling "The Man" will come down to us some day soon and say no more lead for you guys. So what will we be able to use instead? Zinc? They already screwed the pooch on lead use for fishing weights in Cali so I know they will be pushing for change every where else. I know they are happy for now as we recycle about 98% of everything lead right now.

So what I want to know is what can we do for the day they stop selling us lead and since I'm getting into this late I don't mind switching to something other than lead.

It might be sooner than you think in the People Republic of Wa if people don't wake up. This year they've been trying to pass a bill [HB 3359] that uniquely serializes pistol bullets AND cases and requires ammo registration. All other pistol ammo will be illegal. If this ever becomes law reloading will be Kaput and you won't have to worry about an alternative to lead.

I don't think the crack-heads are getting high on lead fumes so why don't they chase after them more and leave us alone.
