Santa Barbara Arms

Still hoping to find some information on my 1858 Remington New Model Army. It was built in the 1960's(?) by Santa Barbara in Spain. If I ever need parts I'd love to know a Supplier. It's a great shooter, fairly accurate and fun. Load is about 30 grains of Pyrodex P with a 454 ball.

Probably made by Empresa Nacional in Santa Barbara, Spain. Parts will be hard to come by. Your best bet would be get Uberti or Pietta parts and HOPE you can fit them. That's what I had to do with my Rigarmi 58. Shoot it till you can't and then buy a Pietta or Uberti.

Kab, you might want to try these folks or at least talk to them. Surprising how much help they have given me. The biggest problem I have seen with any of these Remington models, other than nipples, is weak main springs. They are all pretty much alike!!!

Where do you get that from?

Remingtons have the strongest mainsprings of anybody. All the SASS shooters want to lighten them up.

Hawg, You need to learn the difference between strong and stiff. I too have lightend a few but that did not make them last any longer. Kab is looking for help, not opinions or arguments.

I wasn't trying to start an argument and as for opinions isn't that what you did? Now as for them lasting I've got a Remmy over 30 years old with the original spring and it works fine. No argument , no opinion, just fact.

Thanks Hawg and Pahoo - didn't mean to start an argument. To the best of my knowledge Santa Barbara is Spanish, bought by General Dynamics, and makes weapons systems for th Spanish Army. Where can I get parts ?

Oh, how long is half time ??

Pietta/Uberti/etc. parts for several percussion replica revolvers can be had at VTI gun parts:

Pop's right. Santa Barbara used to make lots of stuff, and they were a manufacturer for Spain's ordnance. Over there they were "Empresa Nacional de Santa Barbara de Industrias Militares", or just "Santa Barbara", and now I think they are "Santa Barbara SA (Santa Barbara Blindados SBB)"

I still don't know just where that Santa Barbara .44 CB pistol came from, but I can easily believe Santa Barbara made more than one and that parts should be...somewhere. I just don't know where yet

Sant Barbara hasn't made the Remy for several years. Don't know about parts availibility, but you can try Euroarms parts also. S & S Firearms in Glendale N.Y. has Euroarms parts. http://www.ssfirearms.com/ Their Euroarms remy parts interchange with originals too. Their screws do not, except I found that their hand screw did fit my original Remy.

If you could compare the Santa Barbara to either of the other 3 then likely the one that is closest in size to the Santa Barbra might just have parts that you can use.
