55gr bullet question
i have 4 different boxes of 55gr fmj bullets........ i didnt put a name on the boxes.....forgot what kind they are.........is there any way to tell them by manufacture and type? or are they all the same....

There can be differences in the jacket and ogive which will change the way they fly and the start pressure. If I were in your situation I would consign them all to the practice/plinking bin and be sure not to load them to max charge.

I never got any kind of good accuracy from FMJ bullets.
The might be good for sighting in a rifle, but have no hunting value. Martyn |

Hornady is the beas 55gr fmj at reasonable prices. Sierra is probably better, but cost twice as much.
