thinking about getting the Rem SuperMag..

Hello Everyone I'm new to the board today. I'm Seneca. I was asking around and have not got a straight answer yet. I want to get a Remington 870 SuperMag, But i wanna be able to get a rifled slug barrel for it also. does anyone know if you have to get a special SuperMag Barrel Or will the standerd 870 2 3/4 3'' fit the SuperMag? Thanks for any and all info. Seneca

It doesnt matter if you want a rifled slug barrell on account of they dont make 3 1/2 slugs (please tell me where if there are). I have seen 3'' slugs but I dont think theyre any better than normal high powered slugs. As far as the regular barrel and 3.5 inch shells, Its a great gun and I made mine tactical with an 18 inch barrel and mag extension and now im looking for a barrel with a choke to hunt with but the price of a barrel is 50 bucks cheaper than a new 870. The most common 3.5 comes in steel shot from winchester , around here anyway, and with my short barrel the spread is rediculous

I know for a fact that the 870 supermag will take 3" chambered barrels as I just put an 18" barrel on mine earlier this week.

Except for the rare and discontinued Special Field models, ALL 870 barrels will exchange within gauge.

If you mount a barrel chambered for 3" shells on a SooperdooperMaggieNumb, it'll work with 3" or shorter shells.
