Lee Pro 1000 sticking

Just got a Lee pro 1000 and the shell plate carrier is sticking on the way down

pull lever down carrier goes up fine but on the way down it sticks about half way

if I put slight pressure on it with my finger on the way down it will go down but without the pressure it just sticks

any ideas or should I just send it back to midway. I do not have the $$$ for a dillon and don't want to start a debate just need a little assistance to see if this thing will work

Put a drop of lube on the indexing rod and any other pivot points. I had a similar problem with mine after about a year but it worked out fine.

Also make sure there there's not any spilled gunpowder under the shellplate...

If you're using the casefeeder make sure that the...z-bar (I think that's the name, its the z shaped piece of metal that goes between the case feeder and the press body) isn't binding slightly against either the case feeder or the press frame.

Those are my two normal culprits causing that problem, .40 S&W and .380 ACP require a little "tweaking" of the Z bar to get case feeding to go just right.

These things do take patience to get going, but once you tweak it it'll crank out some quality ammo.

A little rem oil with some graphite....

I rub a #2 pencil over my working parts and put a drop or two of RemOil over the sliding metal places, as well.

#2 pencil graphite works REALLY well for keeping the bullet feeder and case feeder working as they are supposed to.

NEVER put oil between two pieces of plastic that rub... keep them dry and use graphite.
