Small pistol primer ?
Does anybody make a small pistol primer that is plain brass ? I ran a bunch of max loads through my 357 SIG today and the firing pin channel got blocked by a small piece of nickle from a primer. Speer ran into the same problem and came up with the lazy s brass and went to a plain brass primer. I have Win, Fed, CCI and REM and all of mine are nickle. Some I may have had for a while so is anybody using plain brass on small pistol primers now ?
Thanks,Keith |

The last time I bought Remington small pistol they were brass. That was about 5 years ago though. I have been going through a large stockpile of CCI I have had for a while. Just saw how much they have gone up--OUCH--the price marked on my last box was $21.

Primer are hard to get
around here they want 32.00 a box for Federal small pistol 24.00 for CCI. Winchester I think is not to bad. I blame it on the war. I read that over a billion rounds of 9mm have been loaded for the war. What do they do with it build road blocks ?

I've shot a couple tons of Federal gold medal primers over the years and not one has ever shed any plating. I shoot with a lot of other people who use them and never heard of anyone having that problem.

I use small rifle primers to load .357.
They are a little harder than small pistol primers. |

I could ask
Do you mean 357 SIG or 357 Mag but it does not matter the 357 SIG has more pressure. I was thinking the same thing. The old 357 MAG loads are nice but the new stuff is watered down. Speer dropped the max load for a 125 357 mag load with blue dot by 3.3 grains. I can beat that load with a 357 SIG round.
