home made blunderbuss
ok so im trying to make my own blunderbuss. Its going to be a flintlock and I can make or buy all the firing and triger parts. The problem im having is the barrel, I had a piece of 2inch wide plumbing pipe thats somthing like 1/8 inch thick. while this thing is mostly going to be a wall hanger, I would from time to time like to fire it. and I decided that the pipe barrel would just turn into a pipe bomb. so I need to either find a place that will make me a barrel about 2inches wide (200 caliber right?), or if any of you have ideas on something else I can use for a barrel.
-thanks |

Since I also live in MD and just hate bloody body parts falling on me, I strongly recommend you forget about trying to make a shootable blunderbus out of pipe.
I know of no place that sells blunderbus type barrels, but if you want to tinker with a DIY gun, get hold of a Dixie catalog (www.dixiegunworks.com). They have a number of kits available that require just enough fitting and finishing to be of interest. Jim |

Vernon C. Davis will sell you a blunderbus barrel. He sold me mine (I've yet to assemble it). You can contact him at http://www.stonewallcreekoutfitters.com and their email is: [email protected] BTW, it may be a new owner as Vern told me several years ago that he was retiring.

When you do complete the gun, please post a pic of it. While the blunderbuss is an obsolete weapon IMO, it would be cool to see a homemade one.
