Remington Nylon 66 "doohickie"

When I was a boy my dad gave me a Remington Nylon 66 for X-mas. It's still in good working order but the rear sight on the receiver cover is missing the "doohickie" that the elevation screw fits into. The screw goes through the rear sight's slot, but has nothing to grab onto. I tried Gun Parts Corp., but they are currently sold out of the receiver cover. Yeah, I could mount a scope , but I donwanna. Does anyone on the Firing Line have any suggestions? Thanks in advance, BC.

I would try Pennsylvania Gun Parts [724]547-3257. I think his hours are 4pm to 8pm eastern time. Don't leave a message.

www.remington.com and go to parts. I have a Nylon 66 1959 vintage that my F-in-Law ordered in when he saw early ads in mags. It has grooves and I have used a scope but like the open sights on the 66. Many folks think it is a light weight toy but it is a good shooter. I do hate that I have to count and guess to fill the butt magazine!

try here

http://www.gun-parts.com/sights/

Also watch ebay.

I have a Colt Colteer single shot. Colteers were only made about 9 years in the 60-70's era. I watched ebay for months and would you believe some one put a Colteer sight up for auction. I was the only bidder but now the gun is original for 10 bucks. Good luck
