Need Help Reassembling!!!
I got a handgun a couple months back. Ive put around a 100 rounds through it. Its a Para Ordnance P1640. The guy said it dissassembles just like a 45. Well ive gotten help on the semiauto forum on how to dissassemble it. I went to a website that showed me how to dissassemble it. First i made sure it was empty and took the magazine out as it said to do. Second I pulled the slide back so i could take out the slide stopper. Then i eased the slide forward and allowed the spring to come out. Well i started to put it back together but i didnt know how to. So know i feel like a dumb***. Well the spring is real stiff and that dosent help at all. So if anyone could post pictures on how to put it back together it would help alot. Please no websites cause reassembling instructions were real confusing and a step through step instructions would be easier.

For future reference, it's much easier to take a 1911 apart and put it back together the correct way which is by compressing the main spring just under the muzzle then rotating the barrel bushing CLOCKWISE until the spring bushing gets past the barrel bushing. This allows you to take the slide lock out and install it without the main spring tension fighting you.
PS, hold onto that spring or you'll get OWNED by it in the face or something. |
