Kahr K9 SA?

Hello need some sagely advice:

Just purchased a used Kahr K9. Supposedly they are DAO.

When I tested the one I have (using dummy 9mm rounds) for dry firing - the hammer went down really smoothly on the first pull, but no follow up for the 2nd shot. (Gun did not cycle of course - using dummy rounds.)

The trigger is very light - not the factory 7 pounds as I suspect. Could the weapon have been modified? Or are all Kahrs like this?

No second strike capability?

Like many DAO autos, the Kahr's action is "Pre-cocked" or "set" by the slide moving back.
The Kahr is a "One time Only" action that has no "second strike".

In other words, if you pull the trigger and the slide is not operated, the trigger cannot be pulled again.

Most Kahr's have really nice triggers, but it's possible a previous owner had the trigger worked over.
As long as the gun is reliable, there probably isn't a problem.

Since the gun IS used, and you probably have no idea how many rounds have been fired through it, I'd recommend buying a new recoil spring.
Most K9 Kahr's need a new spring about every 2000 rounds.

Buy a FACTORY weight spring, NO "extra power" springs.

IMHO, second strike is largely irrelevant. In all the ammo I have ever fired, pistol, revolver, rifle, shotgun, including 40-50+ year old Milsurp ammo, I have had exactly one failure to fire.

Feeding, extraction, ejection, premature slide lockback or failure to lock back, cylinder seizure or flop-open....yes, yes, and more yes.

Guess which types of malfunctions I practice?

Just something to think about, and guaranteed to be worth exactly what you paid for it.
