Next .50 ML

I own .50 caliber Pursuit, but have been told recently that the gun is unsafe at 100 gr. of 777 (though supposed rated for 150 gr. BP). I am thinking of replacing it.

I will use it to hunt Elk as I did my pursuit. Use only conical bullets 295 gr and up (Sabots are illegal here). Use only open sights (Scopes are not legal). I want 1300-1400 ft-lbs energy at 100 yards.

I have been considering the NEF Sidekick SS .50 caliber. Seems to be one i can afford and is American made (?)

I am curious. Is the 1:28 twist rate to fast for conicals?

Thanx in advance
