CCW P228 or P239
I currently have a G19 and enjoy it very much, but am looking into getting my CCW and don't think the G19 would be a good carry gun (as I feel its a tad big).
I am very interested in the Sig P228 or 239 and would like some feedback as to which (in 9mm) would be better for CCW, lower recoil and ease of shooting. I'd love to find one in stainless and am thinking of carrying on my ankle Any and all input is welcome. Thanks |

Quite simply, both are great for CCW. It really comes down to which 1 feels better for you. The P228 is considered by many to be THE best 9mm available. As far as recoil the difference would be minimal.

I CCW a P228 and it's in my opinion the best 9mm I've ever used. However if you feel the Glock 19 is too big, I doubt it's the gun for you. You can also forget about ankle carry with either choice.

Lest we forget.
What about a 229, A few cosmetic features but is the same as 228. Have both and love them equal. Infact 229 is stainless slide. Schrack

As ATW stated, ankle carry on these is out of the question. Either is a good IWB gun, but that's about as far as they'll go. You might think about a Baby Glock or a Kahr PM9 variant if you want ankle carry ...

I am currently carrying a Sig P228 IWB, and it is great, I'm concealing it w/t-shirt jeans and a GOOD belt (very important). Can't see any way to carry it on the ankle though, too heavy and large. I wouldn't trade mine for anything.
