Possible to disassemble HK91/G3 mags?

I recently picked up some factory/military contract G3 20 round magazines as a gift for a friend . I want to dissassemble them to inspect and perform any necessary cleaning on the inside of the mag, follower, spring, etc. However, I cannot figure out how to get the floorplates off the mags, and do not know if their is some sort of retention device that does so. Somebody have an answer, or is the magazine of the type that cannot be disassembled (Note: My friend has had his HK 91 for 6 years and does not know of how to disassemble his mags either).

Without having mine sitting in front of me...... Pull up (with the mag upside down) on the part that looks like a little fingernail catch. And start to slide the floorplate off in that direction. If they are used, they can be quite hard to get off. May help to bang (assist) them off with a rubber mallet or plastic punch. If I'm off a little send an email and I'll get one and take it apart and describe more fully for you.

Riss,
Aha!
I just got the floorplate off one of the mags! Thank you very much. I had to find something to get underneath that space (not much room there) to pull it up . Thanks again.

Fingernail catch? I clip mine short and use a ball point pen to push 'em in.
