soft ball load

Just tried some Speer .452-230 grain lead /molylubed bullets over 5.8 Unique. They do 788 fps with 65 fps spread over five rounds and seem to be a bit more accurate than hardball. This charge tends to send some 230s into the low -middle 800 fps range but this one is about like the old pre-war WW target ball load for velocity.
Speer Manual says to seat to C.O.L 1.270" When I did that, I had some malfunctions- loaded round sailed out the top of the port. Perfect function came at 1.280"
