Cosby Custom Gunsmithing
The Oct. issue of GUNS has a John Taffin article about custom Marlin leverguns, and mentions Brian Cosby as being a good 'smith for doing a takedown package on an 1895 in .450 Marlin. Taffin lists a website, www.cosbycustomguns.com, but it's under construction. The only other info is a phone #, 812.925.6761. I believe this is in Indiana.
Does anyone here know of this fellow? What's his reputation? Does he do good work, or is he a hack? |

He's no hack or John Taffin would never have mentioned his name.
COSBY CUSTOM GUNSMITHING has been in business since 1857 or there abouts having been started by Brian's great great granddaddy.
COSBY CUSTOM GUNSMITHING does superb work! Single Action sixguns and leverguns are his stock in trade; RUGER VAQUEROS are copies of guns Brian was making from old beatup BLACKHAWK which he called CRUGERS. ABSOLUTELY SUPERB!!!! He ain't cheap and he ain't quick but the good stuff never is. |
