Which Lee Disc do i need?????

i'm helping a nonreloader buddy set up a Lee pro 1000 that he got (third hand i think or maybe even forth hand)....anyway there is no chart for the disc powder measure and if one of you kind folks can help me with the correct number on the disc-it would sure save me some time----i just hate to start guessing and have to take that measure apart every time---i want to give him about 4.5 to 5.0 grains of WW231 that he'll be shooting behind a 200 H&G 68.....Lee is sending me the chart but in the meantime any help would be appreciated.........thanks in advance.......Dick

At the worst, you're only going to have to take it apart a couple of times - Teach him RIGHT, and weigh the charges...

i don't have two sets of scales on my loading desk for looks----i actually use them several times each day--------

Back to the problem at hand--if you saw the condition of the reservoir on this Lee scale--you wouldn't want to take it off at all--and when i get it adjusted it will probably never be changed-----so can you help or not????? thanks--Dick

Dick,

0.43 or 0.46.

The charges will still have to be weighed to verify that they are accurate, as different powder lots have different volumns.

Go here for a printable chart.

Which Lee Disc?

I won't look to see which "Disk" you need but, I will tell you how to find out.
ALL THE DISKS DO NOT THROW THE SAME CHARGE.
Start about 45, weigh the powder thrown. Move up or back to the next disk, weigh the powder thrown.
Move [probablly up]until you find the one you want. Then to make sure, move up one more disk. It probablly won't be the one you want but you will know you are correct.

If the powder measure is in as bad of shape as you claim, I would throw it away. No need to risk life or limb because of a bad powder throw.

Reloading is a serious hobby, it's not to be toyed with or taken lightly. Using broken or worn equipment could lead to disaster.
