No magnifiers with red dot sights on handguns. The greater the magnification, the more you need that rest. I like a simple 1.5 or 2 X scope for handguns shot offhand.

clarification

All very interesting and thanks to all who have followed this thread.

My interest in the Leupold 2x pistol scope, now apparently defunct (there are many available used still) in current manufacture, is to mount it on an Ultimak mount on an AK rifle. Komrade Klashnikov might be offended, but I can no longer manage the short radius iron sights on the AK rifle, and I really would not rather run a dot, though that is what on my clunker AK at present.

Why use the EER 2x pistol scope instead of some IER "scout" scopes available? Leupold 2x is wee bit shorter and lighter than any of the scout scopes and reports are that the eye relief will still work. However......

For the price the used Leupold scopes are bringing, and limited support it seems, the Burris scout, still in production, despite its slightly longer and heavier size, might be the best option.
