How should I spend $600

I’m thinking I have about $600 of my tax return to buy something cool.

Gun? Ammo? Reloading components?

I have some ideas. Even if I can get close,I can save or somehow sell stuff for a bit more. Just looking for ideas. Maybe nothing is the right answer. Not sure.

Thinking about 5000 sp primers too.

A .22 can is in that price range, esp. if you already have a threaded barrel to put it on.

Sounds like you have money burning a hole in your pocket. If you don't know what you need/want, save it.

This year i wound up buying a garmin chronograph as well as a burstfire annealer, a 21st century mandril expander system, and a new gun safe. Had really been needing all of them for a long time but had just kept on putting them off.

Will give you the same advice i give my kids on buying stuff. You see it, you want it, wait a week or 2, if you are still dying to buy it, get it. Most of the time they forget about whatever it was. To me it means it would have wound up in a drawer collecting dust in a week or 2 if they had bought it, money wasted.

Ammo is good for barter, but so is tobacco, coffee and per the WW II GI, nylons (think the Telly Savalas character in the cinematic flop, Battle of the Bulge).

Note: Savings exposes you to two things - inflation which is higher than the interest payment you receive from the institution (so you lose purchasing power) AND bail-ins like what happened to bank depositors in Cyprus. See the free pdf or u-toob link at:

If 'AMMO' was a choice I would have picked it.
