What is in short supply . . .

My reloading tends to be filling up the ammo closet with whatever is in short supply. This week it's 380 acp.
Life is good.

Am thinking some enterprising individual might try printing some "spacers" to snap fit into the newer lever action finger levers. Then you could easily remove them if needing to wear heavy gloves. Moderate sized replacement levers are pricy, and the Marlins newer finger levers for pistol grip[s are simply too large for many.

Today, I did nothing in the reloading room.
But I spent several hours theorizing with my brother about how we can game the power factor for PRS and NRL Hunter.

Not actual reloading. But theoretical reloading.

I went over notes , filed new load data into binders which was actually fun . I’m interested in shooting again and I think I like it , my wallet isn’t going to like it though

had a few straggler pieced of 223 brass, maybe 35 or so, annealed them, added them to a tote to start getting processed. Need to organize a few things and then start trimming.

Well, you asked, so here's what I did--my first reloading since last year. I wanted to do some more tests with my home-built 300 wby mag which I only ran a few loads through before going overseas last year. I've always concentrated on 180 gr and heavier bullets; but for once thought "why not try something lite?" So here they are, 150 gr ballistic silver tips.

First test looks promising--what I was trying to do was basically download a 300 wby to be the equivalent of a 30-06. This reduces the felt recoil --and also seems to reduce the bore-blasting tendencies of the bigger and more powerful 300 wby cartridges which really aren't needed for most NA applications. The grouping however wasn't all that great--I think it was because I'm simply rusty having not shot a rifle in 7 months--or the stock job I did wasn't done well (I've tried other big magnums on it and they did not group well, either).

Always loved the look of the silver tips. How do you like their performance on game?

I found a bunch of .17-223 brass that still needs to be trimmed.

Instead of dealing with that, I made a micro chisel out of a 1/16" hex wrench, crammed it into a 5.56 case for a "handle", and used it to break traces on a circuit board for a project that my son is building.
Not much reloading, but it all happens on the same bench.

I’ve been working on a load for 6.5 Creedmoor in my Tikka T3X. It shoots Hornady Precision Hunter ~1” at 100yds.

I’d like to shoot Nosler ABLR 129gr’s at 2900fps. R17 is ok, but lacking accuracy. Trying N550 next.

In addition, I’ve been working with a trickler controller made by a guy over on LRH. It works great with the Little Dandy and the TRX-925!

I assume that was directed to me--I never have used them on game--they're just really good bullets for their weight in my experience. One of the smallest 1-hole groups I ever shot out of a .308 win was with these same bullets. And yeah, they do look cool.

Loaded up some 308 with Berger 200.20gr Hybrid target bullets . @ .020 off the lands my COAL is 3.030 now that’s a long 308 , they don’t even fit in my 308 ammo boxes haha . Next will be some 195gr ELD match

Can you still buy 178gr A-max ? I know that weight is in ELD match but I mis the 178gr A-max !

Well a while back i picked up around 300 - 70gr .224 copper hp blems from Midway. Of course it was a month or so before I managed to try them and find they shot awesome and they were gone by that time.

So I had loaded up a hundred plus previously a month or so back and thought I was out of them. The grandson rooted up some we missed turned out to be 107 in the box so I went out yesterday and loaded them all up. They seem to work really well on the feral hogs.

Next up will be the 64gr Nosler Bonded Solid Base. I picked up a solid supply of them for a great price, now to just work up a load with them.
