My list of three are three that I've purchased to replace guns I sold/traded in the past.

(1) A 2024, 4" Blue Colt Python, replacing a 1964 blue Python I sold some years ago.

(2) A 1964 Smith and Wesson Model 18-2, replacing a 1955 22 Combat Masterpiece.

(3) A Smith and Wesson Shield 2.0, 9mm, with a green laser. Had one like it a few years back, sold/traded it when some other bright shiny thing caught my eye. Actually I can't prove it, but I believe the replacement might be that very gun. There are some marks on it that look familiar.

This time, I'm keeping them.

Well, 2 of the 3 would be revolvers, a 6 inch Colt Python and a Colt Officers Model Match in 22LR. The third I would need to purchase, a Wilson Commander in 45ACP, I don't own a Wilson but I do have 10 1911s that I would hate to part with! Actually, this is a ridiculous question, I don't want to play!!!!!! I may get the Wilson though!

Alright then! I will play the game. I got to have an air weight J-frame Smith and Wesson 38 special, and my Colt Lightweight Commander 1911 45acp. My third gun, would be a Smith and Wesson 629 Classic with a 5 inch barrel in 44 mag. But I wouldn't be very happy about it. But I could cover about everything with these three for CCW to Handgun hunting.

I'd keep my HK VP9 with an extra VP40 slide. (9mm/40S&W)
I'd keep my Colt Python. (38 Special/357 Magnum)
I'd keep my Kel Tec P-17.

With 3 pistols, I'd be able to shoot 5 calibers.

Since it has already been mentioned several times, I won't re-state the fact that the thread title is completely different from the question asked in the OP (oh, guess I just did...sorry).
I will say that this question (or a derivative thereof) comes up again and again, with predictable results.

All that said, I cannot answer the first, and fortunately do not have to.
Answering the second is almost equally as difficult, and until I have to make that choice, I probably won't. And neither will most others.
