Case extraction issues with Uberti 1885 .45 colt

I shot my Uberti 1885 .45 colt today and from the very first shot the cases wouldn't extract to the point you could get them out. I had to work the lever and turn the gun with the barrel facing up to finally get them to work out. Sometimes the extractor wouldn't catch the brass rim at all. I came home and tried some old brass I have reloaded many times and it worked a lot better. All the brass is starline brass. Tried some Winchester brass and it was sticky and tried one piece of Hornady brass and it worked fine. Any ideas?

Had one like this come into my shop a few years ago. The factory extractor wouldn't fit right and the new factory etractor was the same. I ended up making an extractor that fit and worked right. So, it's a known issue with the Ubertis 1885s.

Thanks for the information, Scorch. I have a friend who is a gunsmith. I'll pass along that information to him.
