I've not "broken" one, but bent the snot out of one and pitched it. That's the reason for spares.

It’s unnecessary on Lee dies, I posted the correct way in #37.

The decapping pin is not threaded on them, just a smooth rod in a collet.

The universal/pistol pin won’t work for rifle dies because they all have expanders built into them or are the specific OD for a collet die to squeeze the mouth upon.
