7 years in the AF and another 10 and counting in another service (I got a commission). Every time I put a uniform on I try to remind myself that better people than me have died in it in the service of our country. I ask myself if what I'm doing in that uniform does anything to discredit their sacrifice. The uniform is not something I take lightly. In addition to the moral aspects, we're living in a day and age where service members are encouraged to take different routes to and from work, avoid what they put on social media in regards to deployments/rotations, etc. etc.. In other words, I personally ask myself if it's necessary for me to be wearing and displaying my uniform because, if it isn't, it's probably an operational risk. I understand what you're saying and to a certain extent agree with you. I should've addressed my concerns in a PM rather than publicly. |

Sorry if my post is offensive, but it sounds really "PC" to hide your military affiliation/service by not appearing in public in uniform...
