Added a new smokepole to the family

It's a Cabelas sporterized Hawken .54, by Investarms. It was just a safe queen and a fellow ended up with it in a trade and would rather have money. Somebody had lost the ramrod and he only wanted $160 for it, so I couldn't resist adding it to the family. I had another ramrod here that fit just perfectly!

Except for some paper towel lint I left in there, the bore is as shiny inside as the crown. I'm pretty sure it's never seen a shot fired.

That's a pretty rifle, I like the checkering and finish on it. For $160 I would have taken that deal all day long.

Is that the short carbine barrel? (24")

If it is you're going to love it, I have one & its way way handier than a full length barrel, especially in brush.

Nice looking rifle and a very good price! That's a lot of "pleasure and fun" for what you paid for it! Looks like it is in great shape as well. Enjoy!
