rcbs powder dump drum size ?

How can I tell which I have the small or large ? Without taking the drum out I cannot see a part number.

Yes, the top of the drum is exposed to the powder, dump the powder, check the drum size from the top, or adjust the measure for maximum drop of powder, the small drum will not drop 80 grains+.

The small drum will allow the adjustment screw to come out of the cylinder with the lock nut. You have to remove the lock nut and take the large adjustment screw out from the inside of the powder hopper.

If dropping flake powders in low weights feels like you are going over speed bumps you probably have the large drum (think 2-3g of Clays).

Will the small drum throw 27 rains of H335 ?

It should unless RCBS has changed the drum from the original diameter chamber. I use mine for 24 to 25 grains of 296 in the 44 so you should be able to throw 27 of H335 for the 223.

I believe I have the large drum, the adjustment screw will not come out

It'll come out. Remove completely the measuring cylinder bushing and lock screw, then pull the adjusting screw out as far as it will go, and turn the drum so the screw is pointing downward. Then you can push the screw up and out through the powder hopper itself. It helps to remove the powder measure from the stand in order to do this.
