my new 1911
i added this Springfield 1911-A1 TRP TACTICAL to my collection this week. i cant wait to get it to the range to try it out. the only problem is the grips. they just feel weird. any suggestions on a new set of grips? i dont want laser or wrap arounds i was thinking aluminum, rubber or wood. any pros or cons ?

There are many kinds of different grips a person could opt for,all in personal preference.I like Dymondwood or G10 grips myself.

Nice. Enjoy. I've got the same gun in black armory kote. There are a lot of grips that will work very well. I like the lizard skin grips that come stock from the factory. I would recommend checking out VZ grips. Great feel.

To me at least, Double-Diamonds and an arched mainspring housing make a 1911 feel like the handshake of an old friend.

You either really like or really dislike houge grips. Me? I like them but I can see why some don't. Lots of nice grips out there and you have a nice looking pistol by the way.

@ cheezhed. I normally love houge grips. I have them in many of my guns. But for some reason they just feel wrong on the 1911. That's my opinion anyway .
