Trying something new in Webley .32

.32 S&W long, 98gr Lead RN and 100 gr Rainer plateds.

My thought is 3.0 grains of Unique. All the sources seem to say thats OK except for MD Smith, he calls that one way baove max. QL approximates that as well below max.

Ive run 2.1 gr Bullseye before with low recoil and OK accuracy, not that a 2" webley is a K32

Yea or nay?

Ken I would recomend a work up on that one. From my Lyman Pistol and Revolver 3rd Edition. I see a load of 2.5 to 2.8 with a COL of 1.160. Listed for a 100 grain JHP.
Now from all other sources I have read Lymal usualy list a bit on the ligher side in most loads.

I can't find my data for Unique. This makes me sad, as it is one of my favorite pistol powders...

All I can give you right now is:
.32 S&W Long
Magtech Brass
94 gr Meister LFP
2.4 gr HP-38 Warning: This load is considered OVER max by Hodgdon.
0.935" OAL
~980 fps out of a 5.5" .327 Federal Blackhawk

Although it is considered over maximum, that load is milder than a max load of Trail Boss with the same bullet. If you want to use that data, just check out the Hodgdon site. They have you start at 1.9 gr and work up to 2.3, with an OAL of 0.920".

3.0 gr of Unique seems a bit on the high side. I would definitely reduce the load a bit, and work up.

Funny, I QL'd it and it is very low pressure. My real old Lyman book shows a max of 3.8 with a 93gr cast.
