Anyone subscribe to Handloader Magazine?

I was given an issue by a friend and I liked the magazine. I bought a subscription several months back, but haven't seen a single magazine.

They sell this mag through riflemagazine.com... I was wanting to find out if anyone else has good or bad experience before I contact them or have my credit card charge reversed.

I have subscribed for over a decade.

Interesting articles. Of course like all commercial magazines you see the shilling and product placement, but there are enough articles that I keep so I keep re subscribing.

Yes

I have subscribed for about 30 years. Is a good magazine and a reputable company. Seems like your subscription had some sort of glitch. Call them at 800-899-7810 and ask them what happened.

Subscribed for over 30 years, and have the DVD of ALL the issues.

It is very useful for trying to find loading data for even very old guns.

Several months and no rag sounds like a bit much. Better call and see if a number in the street address is wrong or something? On a credit card charge you have 60 days to file a dispute once the charge posts. If they charged you over 60 days ago, that avenue will be closed.

Handloader

I had the same experience. I call their circulation desk and they applogized and sent the issue I had missed right away.

I have been a subscriber for at least a decade and I also have bought the full DVD set for Handloader and Rifle.

The magazine is great and I still routinely learn things in it. The DVD's are worth it though. Get the set and then try to read them all. I am still working my way through the 70's.

Call them. I have always found them to be very responsive.

I have ALL the issues back to #1. It is the best magazine out there on reloading, although it has been dumbed down when compared to the early years. It's amazing how publishers think they can increase sales by providing less information.

Another good source for reloading information are the Handloaders' Digests. Even the early ones have information that is just a pertinent now as when they were published.

I bought at store every other month for a couple years. Bought the online subscription last year. I guess I will get a computer in the bathroom or go back to print.

Handloader magazine

I've subscribed several times for several years each time. The I went back and found the missing copies...almost. I'm about 8 copies short of ALL of them. Over time I'll get them, too.
There have been many times the information didn't mean anything to me, but years later I'd thumb through and find something QUITE relevant to what I was doing THEN. One article that comes to mind was a story about 12ga trap loads using Bullseye. When I refound the story, I musta used a 1/2 ton of BE in my shotgun.
There is quite a bit of experimental loading for the advanced reloader. I thought I was advanced(I've been reloading for over 50 years) but I still make rookie-mistakes. It's a caution, but for the careful thinker, who is curious, they can see what others have done, and think about.
Have fun,
Gene

Anyone subscribe to Handloader magazine

I subscribe to most of the firearms magazines out there, but the one I most wait for and am glad when it arrives is Handloader. I have always found them most accomodating whenever I have a question or need information and the articles are trustworthy and worth keeping on record. Give them a call - they'll work with you.

Did I read that correctly -- five hundred ninety nine dollars?
Is that for the DVD set of all the back issues?

Do they have a phone number where I can contact them, just to laugh?

I get internet versions of Handloader and Rifle and Successful Hunter and Load Data all for about $5.00 per month. Very good deal. Handloader and Load Data are most useful. Wolfe Publishing is a great company.

The $595 is cheap, look into the bound volumes (two years in each book) a complete set issue #1 to current is about $3500-$4000. And I don't mean the ones in the wire binders, but correctly done by a book bindery, that is if you can find them.
