Hodgdon's online manual has 22.5 grains to start and 25 grains maximum for a 63 grain Sierra soft point. 2.200" COL, Winchester case, Winchester WSR primer. Should be pretty close. Just don't skip using the starting load level and working up while watching for pressure signs.

Military surplus M855/SS109 62 gr. FMJ bullets with H335 powder, I'd load between 24 grains to a maximum of 24.6. My tests shows approx. 2900-2950 fps at 24 grains and approx. 3030 fps at 24.6 grains. That's with RP and WCC once fired cases, RP 7 1/2 primers in a 20" 1/7 AR. Start lower and work up and from my testing, I wouldn't go higher than 24.6 grains of H335 but it didn't show pressure signs at that level. Your components and rifle may differ. Now if you're using WC844, the surplus powders do vary from lot to lot so you will have to work up with your powder. It may be a little faster or slower burning than H335. With WC 844 I'd start slightly below 24 grains and work up. You may find a load you like between 23.5-25 grains of WC 844 depending on your powder.

well, i shot 6 different recipes with wc844 today, and with the sr primers and with the m41 primers. i am more confuesed now than before. they ALL shot good, just with the heavier loads, i think i need to get a heavier buffer. Showing some signs of really flat primers up around the 25 gr. mark. Think i will stay with the 24.1ish loads and rock on with it. I will add that i do like my loads with Accur 2230 better. Just seems to be a better shooting powder. But got 16lbs. of wc844 so will have to do with that.

Read through Dan Newberry's OCW site for a systematic way to identify of the mid-point of the best powder charge range for best accuracy. Set your powder measure to that level and you'll have some wiggle room either side of it that will give you some room for both powder measure error and temperature variation.
