Cone nosed 9mm
I just bought a box of 125 gr LCN 9mm bullets. Has anyone got an o.a.l. I have been shooting 125 gr lrn with 3.8 grains of 231 for a mild target load.
Thanks, Ron |

I load my 125gr LCN's (Space Coast Bullets) at a COL of 1.15". I have not incurred any feeding problems in any of my 9's.
BTW, that is a conical nose bullet. |

I got some cast trucated cone bullets at a local shop, and quickly discovered that a standard bullet seater does something weird to them...

Not all bullets are created equal - not even in the same weight and style.
We can't give you an accurate answer without knowing what brand your bullets are. I use 124gr LFPs from a small operation in Nevada. They're essentially a broad-tipped truncated cone. OAL = 1.135"

Make of Bullets
I am buying cast bullets from a couple of sources in this area. So far, I have loaded LRN and Plated 124 grain. I am going to try to find out the exact mold of these.
I have attached a poor photo of one I loaded which I believe is too deep at 1.12. |

For those following this thread and are considering hand loading this shape of bullet either jacketed or cast, they will feed very well through auto actions but I had a real problem handling them while hand loading. The little buggers were very hard to keep from slipping though my fingers when placing them into the top of the 9mm cases. Aggravating! I have small hands and fingers; I can only wonder how those guys with beefy hands and fingers manage to manipulate them.
Just for what is worth. |

Rcbs 09-124cn
The 124 RCBS 09-124-CN Conical nose looks a lot like my bullets. they are a little harder to hold on to.
